We believe in employing the physicians and CRNAs already present at the hospital with long-standing relationships. It is our intent and long-standing practice to support rather than to replace providers. Our minimal turnover rate is a testament to this philosophy.
Will NorthStar try to lower my compensation?
NorthStar believes in optimizing financial compensation for both the physicians and CRNAs to have the very best anesthesia providers. We are committed to exceeding MGMA standards by optimizing staffing plans, maximizing managed-care contracting and the advantage of large group purchases for benefits.
Am I a partner or employee?
We do not offer partnership tracks, but rather optimize financial compensation from day one with the availability to pursue management opportunities for those interested. While corporate medicine becomes more pervasive, we believe we combine the benefits of a large organization with the personal attention and devotion to all members of NorthStar Anesthesia.
Will I be able to make decisions at the local level?
Every NorthStar facility has an anesthesia chief, and every hospital practice has the ability to personally recruit and tailor its practice to the particular unique nature of its hospital. We attempt to complement a best-practice approach with the acknowledgement that every situation is different.
Can NorthStar help with the anesthesiologist/CRNA relationship?
It is critical that anesthesiologists and CRNAs will increasingly need to work together. We believe that the success of both groups working together is the optimum path to pursue. While there may be individual variability in particular hospitals and surgery centers, our enduring philosophy has been to work together as a team.
